Symdaddy Humour

This is where Symdaddy let's the funny side out for an airing.
(Symdaddy is George Turnbull. Sym is my border collie, of which I am the 'daddy')
Pictures (borrowed) with captions of my own making, the occasional video (if I can work out how to use the camera) and maybe a link or two to someone else's take on what's funny.

I hope you like it!

Lily’s Story

The lovely Lilly

Lily did her seven days in the dog pound, but no panic stricken or loving owner came looking for her.
Thankfully she was rescued by Four Paws Animal Rescue. She wasn’t fortunate enough to be fostered, so there she sat in the kennels, waiting patiently for me to find her.
I’d been searching the rescue centres on the Internet, looking for a Border terrier, but when I saw her sad, worried looking little face, I knew she was my girl.

A few days later, after being home checked, we went to Wales to collect her.
We arrived at the kennels with a blanket neatly on the back seat for her.  Well, you can imagine what happened, after spending weeks in kennels she went whizzing round the car like a tornado.
We thought 'oh no! What have we done?' but, by the time we were out onto the road she had flaked out, and slept for the three hour journey home.

Having come from the pound, we knew nothing of her past, but the Vet who spayed her said she had had multiple litters, and her womb was infected. It would seem that someone had been using her to churn out terrier crosses.

Having Lily is the best thing that ever happened to us, she gives us so much love and makes us laugh every day.
We will never know her past… but her future is pretty certain.

Val Lewis (lilypop)

How would you feel to be locked in a cage?
Would you feel angry? Would you feel rage?
How would you feel to be tied to a post?
Abandoned by those you thought loved you most.
What would it be like to be kicked by the feet,
Of people who won't give you enough food to eat?
Would you like it if you were dumped in the pound,
Or left wandering the streets with no chance of being found.
So tell me now, what would you do?
If any of this had happened to you?
To thousands of pets it happens each week,
And for many their future is horribly bleak.
There is so much work that we need to do,
And to help us with this we desperately need you.
Your donation could help change many a dog's fate,
And help a dog find a home before it's too late.
